I first heard their eerie, echoing calls during a trip to Cairns in 2020, and I’ve been captivated by them ever since. Their sound was unforgettable—ghostly and haunting, cutting through the quiet night.

I created this painting to capture that moment and the quiet, watchful presence of this unique bird, using my own distinctive watercolor style.
