Platypus – Yungaburra – Acrylic Keychain
Based on my original watercolour painting
One of Australia's most extraordinary creatures, the platypus is a true marvel of nature — a mammal that lays eggs, hunts with electroreception, and sports a duck-like bill and beaver-like tail. This charming keychain captures the platypus in soft watercolour tones, inspired by the wild platypus population found right here in Yungaburra, on the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland.
Where are platypus found in Australia?
Platypus are found in freshwater rivers, streams, and lakes along the eastern coast of Australia — from Far North Queensland down through New South Wales, Victoria, and into Tasmania. They favour cool, clear waterways with muddy banks for burrowing. Yungaburra's Peterson Creek is one of the most accessible and reliable spots in the country to spot them in the wild, making it a beloved destination for wildlife lovers.
Printed from my original artwork and finished with a clear acrylic coating for durability. Lightweight and easy to carry — a uniquely Australian keepsake for your keys or bag.
Size: 6 x 5 cm
